Honey Creme Soft Serve Ice-Cream

[Media Invite]

Honey Creme opened with a bang many moons back at 313 @ Somerset but the laggard us only got to check out their soft serve ice-cream last week. So what exactly makes Honey Creme stand out from the other soft serve ice-creams that other big restaurant chains are churning out? For one, I was told that the premium ingredients are all natural, organic and the ice-cream is crafted by hand! Thus this would definitely appeal to the health-conscious. But because it is all natural, the ice-cream melts really fast too. In today's world, it is almost impossible not to take in any additives in the food we buy. Go take a look at the ingredient list of your favorite pint of ice-cream from the supermarket and chances are, you would probably find a whole lot of emulsifiers, food stabilizers or chemicals listed.

We tried a couple of different flavors such as organic cotton candy with sprinkling of rock salt which was really just so-so for us only, for the cotton candy has no (artificial) flavors lor! The kiddos finished the cotton candy and left most of the original ice-cream to me! The honeycomb was awesome though and my wife loved it too. It was bursting with the natural flavors and goodness of honey, with the right level of natural sweetness while the honeycomb gave the dessert the added novelty. But my personal favorite would have to be the Alishan Milk Tea that comes with both sweet chewy honey-coated pearls and tea jelly as bubble milk tea is my favorite drink!

And of course we also tasted two very special localized flavors that will only be launched in the later part of this year in celebration of SG50 and the opening of their 2nd store at Jem in mid-July.

Stacci is holding on to my personal favorite! The Alishan Milk Tea that has both pearls and tea jelly! Tastes just like a cup of bubble milk tea, absolutely yummy!
They couldn't resist the cotton candy for sure, but left a good portion of the ice-cream to me!
Pandan Gula Melaka ($6.00)

This yet-to-be launched ice-cream, with its pandan-infused flavor, crunchy puffed rice, chewy attap chee (palm seeds) and sweet and salty preservative-free toasted coconut chips topping is really machiam made for the locals lor. No kidding, the very moment Steffi tasted the first scoop, she exclaimed, “it is like pandan cake!” and then got high on the gula melaka syrup that was served in a pipette on the side. The pandan flavor is extracted in-house from pandan leaves and not from some artificial concentrates! Just for the National Day weekend (7th - 10th August 2015), Honey Creme will also add a Merlion-shaped biscuit to the top of the pandan parfait as a special SG50 treat.

The girls had fun adding in their desired level of sweetness with the gula Melaka syrup in a pipette.
Availability: 1st June to 30th September 2015 (313@Somerset ) or Mid-July to 30th September 2015 (Jem)

Cereal Milk ($5.90)

To celebrate the opening of their 2nd outlet at Jem, another new flavor, Creme Cereal Milk, will be served exclusively there from mid-July to mid-Aug. I would never had imagined cornflakes cereal as an ice-cream flavor, and so did my wife! She tried the ice-cream and although she said that it was something she liked, she wasn't able to guess the flavor at all when I asked! Steffi, my little ice-cream connoisseur came to her rescue and was able to correctly describe the flavor as cornflakes, with just a spoonful! The cereal-infused soft serve is served with generous top and bottom layers of cornflake crunch. The cereal mix is also lightly toasted with butter and it goes great with the sweet creamy soft serve.

Availability: From 1st June (313@Somerset ) or Mid-July 2015 (Jem) onwards
