Rocking Madagascar Live!

[Review]

The kiddos were counting down to the hours every since we went for the Meet-and-Greet session two days prior to the opening of DreamWorks Theatricals' Madagascar Live! in Singapore. I guess the brief introductory numbers performed on that day places high expectations on the kiddos. Stacci in particular, was looking forward to seeing Alex the lion again. But Leroy had to ask me matter-of-factly, "they are performing on stage this time hor?", much to my amusement.

The penguins before their escape!
The "animals" when they came first came on stage.
Besides Louie who got a little scared at the beginning of the show, the rest of the kiddos had their eyes practically glued to the stage. The show followed the storyline of the animated movie closely and the kiddos were able to follow through, without asking me any questions like they usually do! The songs were catchy and the moment "I like to move it, move it" comes on, you can see all the head and bodies moving.

The "bestest" friend...
Alex was deprived of meat...and then he dreamt about dancing with steaks!
So Alex got a little too hungry and gave Marty a bite, to hilarious laughter!
Halfway through the performance, I already saw many little ones dancing at the sides without a care in the world, truly enjoying themselves. But when King Julien asked everyone to get on their feet at the finale, that was when the party begun. I think the production team should hang a few disco balls and replay the last part a few times. 3 times would be great! That was how enjoyable the show was for the kiddos. The close to 2hrs show, was over before we knew it.

It was intermission time and we had to take a photo of the "aurora borealis" or rather "aurora projectionis"! Everyone was in the "high" mode.
The main cast looking cool as they performed their numbers.
Everyone got pretty excitement towards the end and many were already dancing to the beat!
Madagascar Live! is a highly entertaining production for the family but take note that it will only be playing till this coming Sunday, before the entire production moves on to the next country. So you better hurry if you wanna bring your kiddos to this fun musical! For now, I keep hearing "coz you're my bestest friend!" as the kiddos kept singing the song over and over again. Hope that they meant it for each other and then it would truly be the best takeaway!

Thanks to BASE Entertainment, we even managed to get a family photo with some of the cast! A great way to end the wonderful evening.
